Haase was placed on unconditional release waivers by the Giants on Thursday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis:Haase was designated for assignment by San Francisco on Friday, and he will now either be claimed by a new team or become a free agent. The 33-year-old has produced a .162 average with four home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored over 74 at-bats in 29 contests with the Giants this season.
