Gilbert (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports.
Analysis:Gilbert has been cleared to test things out in a game setting after missing the past six-plus weeks with a left shoulder impingement. The lefty will likely require a handful of rehab outings before being returned to the active roster.
